How we bill and why.

Escape Outdoors Construction has adopted a different approach to client billing after hearing horror stories from family and friends encountering significantly higher costs exceeding initial estimates given.

We have chosen to forgo the conventional time and materials billing method. Instead, our pricing policy guarantees that the quoted price is the final price paid by the client. In the event that costs surpass the initially quoted amount, we assume full responsibility and do not pass any additional expenses onto the client.

Should there be any modifications to the initial contract, they will be documented as change orders, clearly outlining any additional costs associated with such altercations.

Pricing considerations.

What can affect pricing:

Terrain:

Hill grades affect the design of the project, such as posts for fences and decks being longer, and needing to be differently set into the ground.

Existing structure removal:

If demolition services are required, this contribute to the cost of the project through labour and disposal fees.

Attachment to structures:

This applies primarily to decks. If the deck is for the first floor, we build free-standing decks. This means that the deck will not rely on your existing building for structural support. For second story decks, we will attach the deck to the structure. However, this requires permits as per provincial regulations, and additional modification to the design of the deck and structure will be required.

Access:

If the project is in a remote location on the property that requires the building material to be carried to the site, this will add labour hours to the project.

Power requirements:

If there is no power on the site, we need to run generators for our tools. We are able to run extension cables, but there are inherent limits to how far we can run them.

Material choices:

At Escape Outdoors Construction, we want to bring you the outdoor escape you desire. However, differences in both materials (such as composite decking vs pressure treated vs cedar), and finishes will affect the price.
